Late 2nd–mid 1st centuries BC
AR Tetradrachm (16.50g, 30mm, 3.6mm thick)

Rev: ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΜ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΩΝ.
Dionysos standing left, holding bunch of grapes and narthex (thyrsos); chlamys draped over arm; monograms in inner fields.

A well-struck example of the late Hellenistic civic coinage of Maroneia, issued in honour of Dionysos Soter (“the Saviour”), reflecting the city’s renowned wine production. Good silver, attractive portrait style, and pleasing broad flan.
