George V Silver Half Crown – 1926 (Original Bust)
NGC MS62 – Mint State
A superb example of the original larger portrait type of King George V, issued in 1926 before the modified “small head” redesign.
Obverse: Bare head of King George V facing left, legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The original bust shows stronger relief and broader portrait detail than the later modified type.
Reverse: Crowned quartered shield of arms dividing England, Scotland and Ireland, with surrounding legend FID DEF IND IMP. Date 1926 below.
Certified and graded by NGC as MS62, confirming full Mint State status with no wear. Light contact marks consistent with the grade, strong detail in hair and shield, and attractive original surfaces.
A desirable first-type 1926 issue — much scarcer in true Mint State than the later modified bust.
