Description
A superb Mint State 1934 Half Crown, professionally graded MS62 by NGC.
The obverse features the bare head of King George V facing left, legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The portrait shows strong detail in the beard and hair, with clean high points and no wear.
The reverse (not shown in this image but standard type) displays the crowned quartered shield within a garter, date below — sharply struck with excellent remaining lustre.
This example presents:
-
Attractive original surfaces
-
Even light toning
-
Strong strike for the issue
-
No circulation wear (Mint State)
The 1934 issue is one of the scarcer dates of the later George V 50% silver Half Crowns and becomes increasingly difficult in true Mint State grades.
Slabbed examples provide added security, authenticity assurance, and liquidity for future resale.
Grade Assessment
MS62 (Choice Mint State)
Full mint state with minor contact marks consistent with the grade. Strong eye appeal and solid investment quality for the type.
