The Obverse of the medal is commemorating the 500th anniversary of Winchester College and was made by George Frampton in ca. 1893. It depicts William von Wykeham, who was a bishop and founder of Winchester College, with nine boys holding books.

The Reverse is the of the collage, the Latin script means 

“Let the luck that affects this house remain unaltered.”
