The 1847 Gothic Crown is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful coins ever struck by the Royal Mint, designed by William Wyon in high medieval revival style.

Grade: Very Fine (VF)

A classic example of the celebrated 1847 “Gothic” Crown with the ANNO REGNI XI edge inscription.

The portrait retains clear facial contour with visible hair detail across the waves and bun. Moderate circulation wear is evident on the highest points, particularly the cheek and crown, consistent with a Very Fine grade. The reverse shield remains well defined with clear lion, harp and wreath detail.

Even grey tone throughout with honest cabinet friction and no major damage.

A solid, attractive mid-grade example of one of the most iconic Victorian silver issues.
