🇬🇧 1921 George V Silver Half Crown

NGC AU58 – Choice About Uncirculated

A superb example of the 1921 Half Crown of King George V, struck in .500 silver.

The obverse features the bare head portrait of George V facing left, with strong definition remaining in the moustache, ear, and jawline. Only light cabinet friction is visible on the high points, fully consistent with the AU58 designation.

The reverse displays the crowned quartered shield within the Garter, crisp and sharply detailed. The lions of England and the Scottish lion remain well defined, with strong harp strings visible in the Irish quadrant. Beading is complete and sharp throughout. Attractive light grey toning with subtle golden hues in protected areas.

This is a very desirable late pre-debasement issue — 1921 being the final year before British silver coinage was reduced from .925 to .500 fineness.
